Yellow-legged Gull - Geelpootmeeuw - Larus michahellis

1-3: © Ruud Altenburg, 16-07-04. Sportpark Jan van Galenstraat/Erasmusgracht, Amsterdam. Compared to the other 1cy in 3 (bird on the left), this is a very fresh juvenile. Note the very broad white fringes of the feathers, the neat white tips on all but the outermost primaries and the slightly darker brownish basic colour. The other juvenile has started the post-juvenile moult by already dropping quite a few scapulars. Vergeleken met de andere 1kj in 3 (vogel links) is dit een zeer verse juveniel. Let op de brede witte veerranden, de mooie witte topjes op de handpennen (uitgezonderd de buitenste) en de donkerder bruine basiskleur. De andere juveniel is aan de postjuveniele rui begonnen en heeft er al aardig aantal schouderveren uitgegooid.
