This type of rather plain grey feathers without a well-defined shaft streak is often found in Lesser Black-backed Gulls. 1kj Geelpootmeeuw met atypisch getekende schouderveren. Dit type vrij egaal grijze veren zonder duidelijk getekende schachtstreep wordt vaak aangetroffen in Kleine Mantelmeeuw.

Note the subtle difference in shape and length of bill and wear in juvenile feathers. The very broad tail bar also is a good identification clue. Vergelijk de vogel in 1 met deze 1kj Kleine Mantel met michahellis-achtige nieuwe schouder- en dekveren. Let op de subtiele verschillen in snavelvorm en -lengte en de sleet in de juveniele veren. De zeer brede staartband is ook een goede aanwijzing voor identificatie.
