Yellow-legged Gulls in NE Spain/S France


The pictures of Yellow-legged Gull (Larus michahellis) below were all taken in NE Spain (vicinity of Roses) and S France (vicinity of Montpellier and Marseille) between 22 and 28-11-03. They have been selected in such a way that they show variation in the extend of post-juvenile moult in 1cy birds, as well as the variation in 2cy and 3cy birds. Pictures of (sub)adults show differences between males and females, as well as varation in the amount of white in the wingtip.
