2cy Lesser Black-backed Gull/2kj Kleine Mantelmeeuw

This bird (on the left) has retained many juvenile coverts; the new feathers are very fresh and pale with large dark subterminal tip or anchor pattern. Lower two tertials and visible tail feathers retained juvenile feathers as well. Primaries and secondaries not judged, but apparently P5 dropped and if tail still juvenile, probably so are the secondaries. Deze vogel (links) heeft nog veel juveniele dekveren; de nieuwe veren zijn zeer vers en licht met grote donkere subterminale vlekken. Onderste twee tertials en zichtbare staartveren ook nog juveniel. Handpennen en armpennen niet beoordeeld maar zo te zien is P5 uitgeworpen en als de staart nog juveniel is zijn de armpennen dat waarschijnlijk ook nog.
